New build doesn't POST

I'm building a new system using the following components:

Antec P182SE
Asus P5W-DH Deluxe motherboard
E2200
Corsair 2GB XMS 5400
XpertVision 8800GT

Having a few problems though. First one is that the system doesn't seem to POST... at least I think it doesn't. The fans all spin up but I can't hear a beep as I can't find a speaker in the P182. Is this normal...?

Secondly, my monitor doesn't seem to be receiving any signal from the video card, as the power LED remains amber and the screen remains switched off. The monitor works fine when my old PC is plugged into it. My old PC is AGP so can't check the new video card works in that one.

Can anyone suggest anything I should do to troubleshoot this? At the moment I've got an expensive doorstop

I'd try reseating everything firstly. Make sure your CPU and RAM are definately seated correctly.

Also try booting with just a single RAM stick.

Guess I should update this thread... after reseating everything I realised that I'd forgotten to plug in the 4-pin 12v CPU

Funnily enough, with that plugged in, everything works great.
