New build done! Slight problem though!

hi folks.

New pc bits purchased and pc built this evening!

spec here

Vista installed, but i am having a strange problem.

Basically anytime the pc is shutdown or rebooted (including during the windows install process) it just sits there with the monitor light flashing with nothing on the screen, but the pc on.

If I reboot, I get the GFX card splash screen which just hangs, and I have to reset the CMOS everytime. Once this is reset I get the message:

CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded

Then F1 to continue or Del for setup.

But then Windows will load fine!

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my asus p5k. Everytime I rebooted it told me my overclock failed.

In bios I set my ram speed manually and it fixed it.

I have heard that the abit IP35 pro has some issues with the corsair PSU's, maybe thats it, can you borrow another decent PSU temporarily to test that?

Sorry to hijack: I'm concerned about your Corsair / Abit IP35 Pro comment. I've got these bits on order. What are the issues with them?

I wouldnt worry mate, I read up on it online beofre I ordered mine and apparently it only happened to a few people. They had their PSU replaced by Corsair and it was fine.

Maybe there was a bad batch or something, I dont know!
