So, finally after a lot of tinkering and messing around, its working.

I got it all booting up ok, and displaying, don't really know how, which is the wrong way to do i kno, anyhow. Now, whilst trying to boot into vista, the system resets, just after the vista loading screen, something to do with not having the correct motherboard drivers installed?

Anyway, luckily i have an old IDE hard drive on hand, and so install xp on it quickly, so i am now in xp on one hard drive, and don't have a clue how to boot into my vista hard drive, with me?

So, i tried to use the asus driver cd, but if you put it in at startup it boots into some sort of RAID driver install dos facility thing, which i don't need, and dont kno how to get out of.

Any help apprecicated, thanks.

hi there,

i have just installed the following:

Intel core 2 duo e6750
Asus p5n-e sli Motherboard
Extra Value 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 667MHz PC2-5400 240pin
550 watt psu, (from old computer)
all opticals and hard drives (from old computer)

i havent set up the timings in the bios? not sure how to do that. and when i insert the asus cd it wants be to create raid drivers on a floppy drive, which i do not have.

thanks.
