Hi,

I just built a new PC and installed Win 64bit. It worked fine for the first few days but today everything is crashing with the "..stopped working" error.

By everything I mean, games, google chrome, windows updates, pretty much anything that can crash has crashed.

New parts are:

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
i7 2600K (not overclocked)
8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance low profile RAM
Cooler master Hyper 212 EVO

Old parts are my HDD ( 6 months old 1 TB Seagate) and my 750w PSU.

I am really worried about this as I am absolutely clueless as to how to fix it.

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

I echo the above posters in checking your ram, also What is the make / model of your PSU?

I would stick a little more voltage through your ram as I had the exact same problem (we have the same ram) set it in the bios to 1.65v or it would not work properly.

Hi,

thank you for all your help everyone.

I took out 1 RAM stick after many blue screens and it is now working flawlessly so I guess that stick was faulty. I'm waiting for a replacement to arrive now, I have never had bad RAM but is this quite normal if RAM is faulty?

Hey Narzal, which vengeance was your ram? The white 1.35v one of the regular 1.5v one? I ask because I had the same problem with 1 of the sticks just last night.

38144 errors in 2 minutes of memtest, but the other stick is fine.

Hi,

@Tombo - sorry I don't know much about RAM but here is the one I bought.

Corsair-CML8GX3M2A1600C9-Vengeance-1600MHz-Memory

That one is no longer in stock so my replacement is this one:

Corsair-CML8GX3M2A1600C9B-Vengeance-Memory-1600MH
