Ok need some help guys for my bro, after 5 mins of playing fallout 4 the computer just crashes then nothing, here are the specs afaik.

r9 390
and fx-4100
asus socket 492 not sure which one, bought from maplin and has core unlocker written on it

and a g7 power extreme 680w psu

I think its the psu as it would almost burn you to the touch, but the cpu's heatsink can get pretty toasty aswell.

Is that psu really that bad? and if it is what psu would you recommend from maplin.

oh as a side note it was running lotr online just fine before the 390 upgrade (from a 5850)

Many thanks

Like on the side of the psu, was hotter than the cpu heatsink, the green light on the mobo doesn't light up anymore computer is dead at the moment

cpu temps were around 60c i think

Im gonna try another psu on the system and report back

I think it was 2 problems one the psu and two the cpu fan rpm sensor, in the bios the rpm reading would jump from 600rpm to 30000 then back again.
I swapped out the old psu for a new 750 watt one (old one is in the bin), swapped out the cpu fan and all seems fine.

One thing that done my head in was i couldn't find a 4 pin mobo connector then i realized there's 2 4 pin connectors stuck together.
But yeah everythings up and running.
Fallout 4 runs fine on that cpu, probably gonna look to get a better one soon.
Thanks for the advice guys
