New Build - Few Problems

Hey everyone, just finished my first proper build, was a bit of a ropey journey but everything works now. I've got a few questions that I'd like some input on however.

Firstly, since installing a Sapphire HD 6870, the stability of my PC has dropped. It has good days, then it has bad days. Sometimes I'll click on something and the screen will go blank, or I'll log into Windows and the screen will go blank. The PC then restarts itself. Other times the screen just goes a grey colour, sounds still comes out but nothing on the display. Right pain, would the possibility of underclocking help this or is it the dreaded ati drivers. They are all up to date.

If I turn my PC on at the back and then quickly switch it is, it comes up with CPU Fan Error. I have a Gelid Tranquillo, its a great cooler, but this is another pain. The fan starts up fine, I've witnessed the startup with and without the error, and the fan seems exactly the same, but I still have to go into the bios and exit it, and the pc just carries on fine. The only thing I can think of is that to begin with after only just switching the PSU on, the power doesn't get through properly to the motherboard or something causing it to throw the error. Doesn't seem to do it if theres a delay.

Finally, when i turn my PC on, the splash screen comes on, then dissappears, then the splash screen comes on again. My boot time is pretty good, what with my M4, but this wastes valuable seconds and was wondering if there was any reason why it would do this? Incorrect config in the BIOS or something?

Otherwise the build was a great success. I saved lots of money on some good parts, it runs nice and quiet when I need it to, but the fans do their job when the temps start to rise :)

Which are you talking about. The splash screen error and the graphics problem has only occurred after installing the graphics card, sorry I should have said that to begin with.

I had the pc for a month without the graphics card and there were no problems.

That only occurs if the PC is switched on after just flicking the PSU on. Normally, when I turn it on I have no problems. It only occurs every now and again.

Before adding the graphics card the pc was as stable as anything. The occasional CPU fan error would occur, but that was it. I've read elsewhere that other people have had this trouble also.

The PSU is an XFX, so its not a cheap PSU. If I were to test it, what would I be testing for. The voltages off the rails?

EDIT: There's a setting in the BIOS which denotes the CPU low fan speed error. This was set to 600rpm. My CPU fan idles between 600 and 700 rpm on standby, so hopefully this will be the problem solved regarding the CPU fan

I can confirm now that the CPU cooler error has disappeared. The Graphics card is still playing up.
Every now and again the pc will just restart itself, and sometimes the screen will just go grey and nothing will happen. The drivers are all up to date :)

I didn't re-install windows with new gpu. Atm I'm using 2 adapter which came with the card connected to 2 molex. The pci 6 pins are cable tied to the back and its a pain to sort the cable management, so I just left it. When I next open it I will swap it round however :)

Would looking for the intel drivers etc and uninstalling them possibly help. Its only occurs every now and again, every couple of days or something
