I want to build a new PC.

My budget is £1200 and that should include a full HD monitor and a good keyboard and mouse.

I want at least 8GB RAM and an SSD to boot Windows 7. I have my own copy of Windows.

I am going to be gaming..stuff like battlefield 3.

I want to buy components from places like ****** and amazon. Not from OCUK because of the huge amount of bad reviews there are on the internet regarding their poor customer service.

Any help is appreciated..thank you.

No anti-OcUK posts
OcUK will never allow these forums to be used by those who would seek to tarnish our name, no matter how justified they feel their circumstances are. Posts of an offending nature slagging off OcUK, demoralising or demeaning the company name, complaints about bad service, etc. will not be tolerated.
;)

OcUK are good, they used to have a questionable reputation but this has improved massively in recent years.

So you come to the OcUK forums for help..... and **** them off? lol. And I can tell you, their customer service is great, never had a problem with them. RMA'd a few items in the past, always been quick and efficient - same with ordering stuff. I order something before 4pm I'm pretty much guaranteed to recieve it lunchtime the next day.

Wow, that looks amazing..was looking for a bigger screen though...about 23 inches...Resolution: 1080p

Also...What about cables and things like that? Or are they supplied with the components? What about thermal paste...

you should get all the cables and thermal paste you need. not sure about a cable from the PC to the monitor or PC to the speaker though

as for the bigger monitor, if you drop it down to a 500GB HDD then you could squeeze a 24" into the budget (the 24" ones are cheaper than the 23" ones)

I've ordered about £7000 worth of stuff from here, only had ONE issue which was a dead on arrival motherboard though that wasn't Ocuk's fault and they resolved it really fast.

In my view this is one of the best companies around and i've dealt with an awful lot in my life.

Nice spec above too though i personally would go for a 64GB M4 and get a real nice case like a FT02B/Raven RV02 or RV03 or a Corsair 650D.

motherboard is mATX, which means that if the OP added another graphics card, or any other expansion card, then the GPU would get starved of air because of its blocked fans

also, i really wouldnt want a hitachi deathstar in my PC ;)

one thing your build has pointed out.... i completely forgot about the keyboard + mouse. new build from me:

Hey guys...ended up ordering the Titan Supersaurus with the GTX 580 ...i really should have bought the parts myself and built it on my own...but i don't really have the time.

Anyway i ordered it yesterday about 13:00..and received it this morning. I also bought a dell st2320 23 inch, full hd 1080 monitor from amazon.

It works great. The only issue I have is that the box the GPU came in, wasn't sealed, and the plastic wrapping that the graphics card was in was already open and unsealed...makes me think it's a refurbished model. Or one that someone bought and sent back.

Apart from that, i really like it. The Crucial M4 SSD boots up Windows 7 in no time.

Should be receiving battlefield 3 tomorrow...can't wait!!

I agree overclockers has got to by fav company. I don't mind paying a tiny bit more to get it from here as there delivery and customer service is a true credit to them.

Also not having a go here OP but be careful when mentioning other company's as it is a breach of forum rules, next time just say "purchased from eleswhere" or something along those lines :)

Thought it'd be obvious that they'd need to unseal the packet to take the card out for testing and setting up the overclock. :D

In light of the OCUK reviews let me add my own experience that i have had with them a week ago.

Had a big order roughly about £1200 ordered Tuesday everything was delivered Thursday. On inspection i found my case was damage this was late Thursdays night, all other gear appears fine just the case has been dropped.

Sent 3 web notes late Thursday night got a reply asking for photos at 0900 in the morning, i replied to that at around 1000 in the morning got a RMA number at 1030.
Case was sent back on Monday arrived Tuesday new case has been sent to me today (Thursday) and should arrive tomorrow.

Bad reviews about customer service my arse they have been nothing but polite and helpful and i wont hesitate to use them again

Even if thats true, asking for advice on the very forum it is probably not the best idea in stating that - you're just asking for it.

argh....had no idea the GPU was overclocked too!

Sorry guys. I've been pleasantly surprised with the service from overclockers. Delivered less than 24 hours after ordering it.
