personally i'd change the lot :/

hd 4870x2 > gtx 280

q9550 > phenom

samsung > maxtor

ocz > corsair

LGA775 > AM2

thats just a few of the things.

the case isnt bad, neither is the psu, but thats about it :)

As above really. Intel are currently better than AMD at the moment.

What res do you game at?

maxtor drives have a... reputation. The samsung F1 drives are very fast, if you don't mind spending a bit more, the 1tb WD black is the fastest 1Tb drive though.

then when you have some more money you can simply add a 2nd 4870x2 although not sure what a crossfire of 2 x 4870x2 would require? Looked on there site but doesn't say.
