looking to build new system for 1440p gaming as current system struggles with my new monitor, and would like some advice/reassurance as haven't been keeping up with things for a few years.

current plan is pre-clocked bundle and new GPU below:

CPU/Mobo/RAM: krypton Z77 i5 overclocked bundle
- i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz
- gigabyte Z77-D3H motherboard
- 8gb ram, Samsung green PC3-12800C11 @ 1600MHz
- prolimatech megahalem + fans

(on special offer at moment so cheaper than components alone and someone else messes about with heatsinks and o/c :))

GPU: Gigabyte GTX670 Windforce 2Gb
- so many brands to choose from, but this one seems good reviews.
- seems to be some consensus that 4Gb vRam is mostly pointless as gpu will max out before vRam most of time anyway.
- so thinking go 2Gb and maybe SLI another one somewhere down the line if I save up.
- presumably mobo would be ok for SLI 2x670?

total cost £745

PSU question: I currently have corsair HX 520W which has been great - will it be enough for new build? (although I guess for any future SLI definate no)
Assuming new PSU needed I'll stick to corsair I think, but what wattage required?

And that's it I guess. Hopefully this will run stuff at 1440p on reasonably high settings? (One advantage I've noticed already with 1440p is AA often not that necessary, which helps the rate)

Thanks for any advice/feedback and taking time :)

I would say thats a great system for 1440p. I'm going to guess it's mainly for gaming? if so then your CPU is fine and overclocked and a bundle so that is a great deal to capitalize on.

Your graphics card choice will do excellent (670), it won't run in PCI-E 3.0 but the performance over 2.0 is pretty much nothing so excellent card that will i know at 1080p max anything you throw at it so at 1440p im sure it will perform great.

I'd recommend upgrading PSU. In my system i use about 550w of power or around 500w of my 850w PSU. The 670 is a fairly hungry card, not bad for the performance increase though but in the interest of money i say get a good 650w Corsair that has enough power pins for your motherboard and graphics card. If you have a bit more money to spend i suggest Semi modular PSU, these have all the needed cables with room for a lot more. Really helps with cable management, though i know a few people who hate modular and even semi-modular so thats down to opinion and size of the wallet.

Thanks for feedback.
Have gone and ordered above while special offer still on, plus 750W corsair PSU (which was actually cheaper than the cheapest 650W corsair listed)

now to sell off my current bits and pieces while they still have some resale value
