Hi Guys,
could someone recommend me a build for my new 4k video editing workstation I would like to order. My current PC is not capable as it was primarily a budget gaming PC at the time (i5 4690k / gtx 970). I would like to spend in the region of 1500-2500. I will be not need a monitor / keyboard / mouse. But I would like a nice SSD for a speedy OS and another drive for storage.

I tried one myself and here is what I came up with:

Appreciate any thoughts or advice or OCUK builds.

morning, what programs would you be using for 4k editing ?

quick article about pcie 3 vs 4 - lists 2060 Super vs 5700XT for a few benchmarks on different programs which is helpful!

Ram Speed - key for Ryzen

3600hz 32gb ram for intel Z390 and Ryzen x570 matches performance of 64GB Slower kits. normally more ram is better ! so this can effect choice of system/platform

When I saw you post I immediately thought go Threadripper until the 3rd generation comes out your better served by getting something built around the Ryzen 3900x which is 12 cores + SMT. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...rd-gen-pro-gaming-configurator-fs-01u-tl.html, frustratingly the OCUK configuration only allows you to choose up to 16Gb of ram which depending on the size of your projects shouldn't to much of a limitation but as above the more ram the better and with your budget I would want 32Gb as the base.

BTW did you confirmation email for the forums get held up or something? Joined 2015 1st post 2019?
