A gaming friend of mine wants to replace his 4 yr old rig. He has a budget of £1200 and requires Board/CPU/RAM/GPU/Case/PSU and possibly OS (waiting to find out if the Win 7 on his current rig is retail or OEM.)

He only uses his rig for gaming mainly playing Eve-online, Arma 3 , BF4, World of Warships and a few other titles.

He's ideally wanting the rig to last as long as his existing rig... Show me what beasts you can create

Many thanks in advance. :)

That's really quite cool. I love the fact one can change the dye in it if one wished and give your build a complete face lift.

It doesn't matter if its oem or retail. move the win 7 to the new build. if it fails activation , do the phone line activation (which always works unless you answer I have it installed on 17 pcs) then upgrade to windows 10

I have done this on a couple of systems

I'll probably be building it for him. Waiting for him to come back to me on PSU and HDD reusing but likely will be a full refresh and the existing rig given to his kids.

You'd need to use the CD-ROM from the current setup to install Win7.

Think everything is included.

Was thinking about creating a USB Boot Win 7 install and using that instead of the DVD-ROM drive.. at a push I could use a spare drive I have lying round..

Looks like he's going for an X99 build, 16GB Ram and a 970..

What is his current build.

Dark Rock Pro 3 if he doesn't like the aesthetics of the Noctua.

Devil's Canyon would allow for an almost complete build. Else, GTX970.
