New build for around £400

Hey,

It’s my little brothers birthday coming up next month and I’ve been asked to put together a decent gaming PC for him for around £400.

He’ll be 13, so his only real requirement is “red lights”

He plays a mixture of games on his current PC, or tries to, it’s pretty old. From Minecraft to some first person shooters.

I started building up a spec but it came out around £600. I’ve been away from the PC market for about 2 years now, so not really sure what I should be going for. I’m comfortable building it though.

Any tips would be appreciated!

What first person games are they and what resolution is the monitor?

The 2nd option looks best to be honest, an i5 straight away as the Pentium K is meant for overcloking to get the good gains from it.

I’m not exactly sure what games he plays, or what resolution his new monitor is—but what you’ve suggested will be perfect for me to get something sorted.
