New Build for Gaming and General Purpose

Ok been balking slightly at the escalating costs, and was toying with downgrading to an i3.

However, I have just been offered the following for £250.
Asus P8P67 Pro rev B3 socket 1155
/uk.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8P67_PRO_REV_31/

Intel I7 2600k unlocked cpu 3.4 ghz - 3.8ghz in turbo mode

Corsair 8 gb - 2x4 gb low profile 1600 mhz 9-9-9-24 dual channel memory

XFX AMD radeon 5850 - pci express 2.0 - 1 gb DDR5 memory

Items are about 18 months old and supposedly in good working order (I trust the guy selling these within reason).

I realise the gpu is not going to e.g. Play crysis 3 on ultra settings, but should be an upgrade on my current 256mb nVidia card (can't remember the model).

Any comments?

If everything's in order, looks very, very good.

The GPU will do quite well for a while, medium settings.

What's the PSU by any chance?

Then slap on a CPU cooler and overclock that bad boy!

As for the SSD offer, it's reasonable. I'd say £65 at a push. If it's a mate, then it's working and the Vertex 4 is a good SSD.

Cheers. Have gone ahead with the deal. Fingers crossed...
Ordered a zalman z9-u3 case, a corsair 500w modular psu and a 2tb hard drive. I decided to go ahead with the ssd also. Sounds like £70 was a few £ too much - but hey Ho...

Given the corsair low profile ram included above and that particular motherboard, anyone want to recommend a particular heatsink/cooler? I am getting the stock cooler as part of the package, so should be ok for now, but as and when I venture in to the world of overclocking, i know I will need something better?

Thoughts?
Cheers.

P.s. I really appreciate the time everyone has taken to consider my requests and provide advice. You guys are awesome...

Thanks guys. Looking good. Last question. My current PSU is a Corsair CX430 - is that too lightweight for the above setup (inc 1 mechanical HDD and one SSD)? Just wondering whether to try to reuse, or buy something more powerful...

430W is quite tight as I assume you'll overclock the CPU and GPU,
