This is a question regarding a new PC for one of my lads, he is continuing with music production after passing his 1st year and could well be spending some years at it. So really just looking for any suggestions or advice from anyone who has done simiar.
He is looking for something to,
A, play games such as Red Dead 2, GTA, Enlisted, and so forth. He would prefer to be playing at 1440p.
B, music production using the likes of Ableton Live and such like. This does not make use of P cores so Intel isnt a priority or the required CPU it may once have been.
Budget, he has saved £1200. He is hoping to get started in a couple of weeks when he has a week off.
He wants ATX and an NZXT H6 case. So that case is probably not all that negotiable. White case with black components, doesn't want RGB.
His current PC is a 4770K/Gigabyte Z97 SoC, 16gb Dominator DDR3, RX-580, NZXT S340 in white, 240gb+1TB Sata SSD, NZXT C-750 mk1 PSU from 2022, BeQuiet Silent Loop 3 240mm AIO bought in May.
AIO cooler can be re-used, and the 1tb SSD most likely for storage. PSU too if nothing too demanding.
I'm not sure of the recommended CPU's and memory requirements for music production these days, though budget may limit some choices. So with that I was wondering what anyone thinks makes a great starter PC for music production and gaming at this sort of price point?
