Yo guys,

So im new to the forum and would just appreciate if anyone could link me a few specs or build from overclockers. Ive used them to buy some equipment before but never a full PC.

Basically its time to fully upgrade, im looking to spend around 1k on a new build that will last a few years and keep up with modern games, also I feel a new monitor would be better as well, doesn't have to by anything special, just around 200-300 144hz and 1ms.

overall cost nothing more than 1300 please guys.

Any input or advice as what i should do is much appreciated.

Regards.

Welcome to the forum.

I'd recommend preparing a spec for £900 with everything except the GPU. Setting aside the rest for the OcUK build fee and the GTX 1070 when it becomes available in a few weeks (10th June announced). Allegedly it is faster than a TitanX. Realistically, it will have to at least spar with it, or the Nvidia boss is going to have to do some explaining about his claim.

If you have a working GPU you could pop it in when you receive the build, for the time being.

Hi Danny and thanks for the info.

Yeah ive been told by a few people now to wait till june time. Shame as i really want to game now haha, but considering i want this pc to last, I might as well wait a few months to get the best for my money.

I do have a gfx from my old PC, I dont think its anything special.

About how much will it cost? for the 1070 or 1080?

And any further suggestions on a £900 build without the gfx and monitor for (£200-£300) would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Yep.

The truth is we don't know yet. The calculations I've looked at, inc. VAT, should hopefully end up with a few 1070 options between £325-350, after any possible initial price gouging first couple weeks. With the faster factory overclocked cards probably selling for beyond £350.

The 1080 will be out of reach, I think, unless you settle on a cheaper monitor and go for a cheaper non-overclocking i5 and motherboard, etc.

Thanks.

Am on it.

The Win 10 DVD version is £10 cheaper than the USB version. It doesn't need a DVD drive for OcUK to install Windows, but if you'd like one anyway remember to add one.

With this you'd end up with £365 to spare for build fee and a 1070. Worst case scenario you may need about £400 for both, taking you about £35 over your total budget. Once you decide on a spec and ask OcUK for a quote you'll have a better idea.

Thanks danny man. So last question which one should i go for haha? Im going to wait for the 1070 but hopefully buy one of them two, with your suggestion.

Thanks Matt

edit* sorry one more last thing man, i already have w10. however could I get a 250gb solid state drive from samsung and the you could recommend?

Haha apologies. I was asking for your recommendation on a solid state drive from samsung. Well i mean if one of them builds are fine till i get the 1070 then I trust your judgement danny :D

Like i said im not really upto date with whats best etc. So i just want the most for my money and something that will last my a while.

Btw i have a gtx750 at the moment so i dont think it will keep up with a 144hz montior :(

edit* also does this come ready built? im not to good with the whole building part haha.

No, you need to contact OcUK by phone or by opening a thread in the Customer Service forum. Ask them for a build quote, and you could also ask for any pre-builts that might be better, on offer, or something.

No worries about the 750 card - just lower settings for now (maybe even resolution to 1600x900 for games), till you buy a 1070.
