Hi. Ive been forced to use a laptop for the last 18 months and decided to save up for a new rig for Hawell. It will be used for a variety of things including:
Gaming
CAD work
Photoshop
Video Editing
3D Rendering

Im looking at a further budget of about £450 - £525 for a Hawell CPU & Board.

Any advice or something major wrong with my choices?

Thanks

I assume you'll be getting the 4770k?

The 6gb 7970 is pointless, the normal 3gb 7970 will be more then enough.

The PSU is okay though a silver rated xfx 750w is around the same price.

Id change the cooler to a K2 mount doom.

Im just trying to find the budget for a 780 card instead... looking at the reviews it doesnt look like a 7970 is a good way to go.

Changed the PSU. Thanks for that. well spotted

The MSI MPower Z87 looks lush :)

But you only have one display in that spec. i require eyefinity due to the work i do + gaming.:D

I'd personally prefer a large single panel display with a nice high resolution (1440P)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 27" Widescreen LED Monitor - Midnight Grey £439.99
Total : £439.99 (includes shipping : FREE).

I thought you could adjust the spec yourself to be fair. It's surround view on Nvidia not Eyefinity but it's the same thing......

YOUR BASKET
3 x Iiyama Prolite E2481HS-B1 24" Widescreen LED Super Slim Bezel Monitor - Black £143.99 (£431.97)
Total : £431.96 (includes shipping : FREE).

I was looking at those Iiyama Prolite displays..

Its not a company iv'e heard much about!
Are they the beko of monitors or a decent make/model?

Regards

It's not a naff brand. The screens would need some calibrating to get the best out of them, having 3 of them means more work in that regard. There are a couple of reviews with positive comments. If you want to pay more on the panels that's fair enough.

If you don't mind a 23 inch monitor you might find the IPS panel more suited to your work.....

YOUR BASKET
3 x Iiyama Prolite X2377HDS 23" Premium IPS Panel Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £131.99 (£395.97)
Total : £395.96 (includes shipping : FREE).
