New Build For My Dad

So my dad is always shouting and screaming at his current Pentium 4 2.70ghz, 512mb ram, ancient cluttered 5400rpm hdd about being unresponsive and extremely slow... ...So I've decided to build him a new PC before he has a heart attack from stress.

He doesn't need a powerhouse. Just something for browsing the internet, watching videos, creating documents, basic stuff really. No gaming at all.
Always complaining about programs opening slowly so if I get an SSD that should shut him up ;)

Only need the components displayed in the image.
I've checked his current C: drive and he is only using 45gb so no need for a 2tb drive lol :p
I have an old 8600gs card that I will use.
Won't be overclocking. Stock speeds should be more than enough :)
No need for an operating system.

My budget is too be almost as cheap as possible (with an SSD) . Just something nippy for basic tasks... cheaper the better (obviously?).

Any advice would be most appreciated. Thank you :)

DVD burner perhaps? Depending on budget maybe even an OEM version of Windows 7 (I know you said no need for o/s but it's a nice upgrade all the same). :)

How about just getting a 64gb ssd? Corsair c300 are recommended? then you can just keep your old hdd for other stuff?
and i would suggest an Athlon II x2 system over the pentium dual core...it will cost a little more but worth it in the long run

Little bit cheaper. :)

I would go for the 96gb version as after an OS their wont be that much spaceleft on it and so it might be better so have the bigger drive for a little more cost.

To be honest I would buy a Western Digital black or Samsung F3 HDD instead of a SSD and spend the money you save on Windows 7 Home premium.
