New Build for Paradox Games

Id like some advice on a new build, my current rig is running slow so i want to get a new system.

I mostly play games like Europa Universalis IV, Hearts of Iron IV, Crusader Kings 2, Victoria 2 etc and I use the mods that need extra system performance eg "meiou and taxes 2.0 for EU4".

My budget is about £1000, I am able to spend another £200 on a graphics card in a few months time, I am not bothered about a fancy case, I intend to reuse my current Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard and speakers and I have a new Windows 10 Pro licence.

My current rig is

Windows 10 Home 64Bit
Norton
AMD-A8-7410 2.2ghz
AMD Radeon R7 200 series 2gb
Crucial 16gb 1330mhz DDR3
1tb SATA Hard Disk

What case do you have and when you say the mods need extra performance do you meed cpu, gpu or both ?

The current case is a very small lenovo tower so I will need a new case and psu, and I'm not sure if its cpu or gpu or both, I was hoping somebody on these forums would know the games and be able to advise me on whats best to spend more on the cpu or on the gpu.

I have been looking into this and it seems that intel with its higher clock speed and the fact that eu4 doesnt use more than 2 cores mite be way to go, such as an i5- 7600k.

Hopefully others will add to the topic and i will check back before speccing a system.
