I've finally got my hands on a 64-bit Vista build for work purposes and will be buying up the new hardware over the next week. Below I've got some ideas on what to get - any tips/pointers/thoughts much appreciated!

Don't play that many games (sadly, world of warcraft seems to be all i play these days :-)), but do a chunk of stuff on Photoshop, working with photography shots and use the machine for coding on Visual Studio 2005 and working on databases.

HIS ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB
Samsung PinPoint 120P 250GB
Geil Value DDR2 PC6400 2*1GB RAM
Intel Conroe 2.13Ghz
Gigabyte GA-8I965P-DS4

Cheers,
Knoxy

Same basic chip, just the 6400 is clocked slightly higher. Worth the 30 quid if you're not gonna overclock it I suppose. A crime yes but it's not everyone's bag.

Cheers guys, I was tempted by the E6400, so I still may go for that, will the extra 2MB cache make that much difference as I was going to try my hand at overclocking the processor :-) Heard amazing things about the overclocking potential!

The value memory should be fine too? RAM is pretty expensive right now and I reckon I'll need 2GB and get another 2GB when the prices drop a bit
