It's that time of year and my 8 year old daughter's turn for her first gaming PC. She plays Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite, Lego games, Hogwarts Legacy & Rocket League...

I've already got the PSU, CPU & a monitor (Dell S3222DGM - 32" 1440p 165hz), so I've aimed an AM4 build towards that...

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,061.86 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Motherboard is a placeholder - I'll get the B550M variant available elsewhere for £99.

Keyboard, Mouse, Headset are also covered.

Am I missing anything?

Do not pull the trigger on that, you're looking at last gen and sometimes overpriced parts.

Can I assume you have a budget of £1000, or is there leeway?

Are you wanting a white build, it seems like you're trying?

You can build a much superior AM5 based build for that money.

White build, yes. I appreciate it's last gen, but unless I can put an AM5 system together for £800ish including GPU, I don't see the need for spending more, considering the games she currently plays.

I've already got the PSU & CPU (monitor too, but not in my basket).

My main challenge is deciding on a GPU. I'd normally go for the Sapphire Nitro+ (I have the 7800XT and middle daughter has the 6950XT versions - both have been rock solid), although the white Pure edition and silver Steel Legend might suit the theme better...

For the games you've listed, they'll all run grandly on the GPU above. You also have a ton of upgrade potential with the AM5 platform.

Case includes fans, AIO does, etc.

You could spend another £30-40 on a white Phanteks AMP Platinum 1000W PSU if future upgradability is super important to you.

Don't get hung up on GPU models unless they're utter cack like some of the low end XFX, anything Sapphire is going to be more than decent tbh.

The Phanteks white PSU also come with white cables.
