Hey guys

Ive been messing around with a new build spec for weeks now, this is the spec i have so far, its been three years since i built my last pc on my 18th birthday (geekfest i no :P). Im having real trouble this time around, especially in gfx department, so many choices all with there little downsides, for example the 9800GTX2 was my first choice .. (price v power .. due to the leadtek £230 offer) then i find out from reading these forums about micro-stuttering. My second choice .. a 280 .. then find out this card will be out dated in 3months due to 10.1. And even with the price of a 280 .. i could buy 2x4870's and run them in crossfire .. I dont no which would better speed wise in the 280 v 2x4870's(crossfire) battle?!. How on earth do I choose a gfx card at this point in time, for future proofing my build?.

My build is MAINLY for hi-spec gaming & 1080p HD movie viewing (hence the 24" monitor) which my research has told me is the best for its price?! any comments on that also would be great. I just need advice on:

  • If the system is compatible together
What improvements/omendments I can make to it
Advice on the whole gfx situation

Here is my spec (so far)

Thanks guys, I'm aiming to order this spec Friday but with all the decisions and aims for future proofing this .. not sure it will happen :P If I have to wait for the GFX situation to settle so be it, but I would prefer to build it in the next few weeks.

Thankyou.

i dont know about the monitor being the best in its class( there is soo much debate about monitors ).

On the graphics cards department, i think 2x4870 is leading in performance and is also slightly cheaper than a GTX 280. but make sure if you get a pair of 4870's to get a X48 or X38 motherboard, or you will be wasting a lot of perfomrnace( well some at least)
