New build hangs at gigabyte splash screen.

Specs:
Phenom II x4 940
Corsair XMS2 4GB
GA-MA790X-UD3P
OCZ ModXStream 500w PSU
ATI Radeon 4870
Hitachi 1TB HDD.

We've tried clearing the CMOS,
Using 1 stick of RAM at a time, and tried both.

I can't get into the BIOS or do anything at all.

HELP!

hmmmm

-Any particular beeps or strange noises?
-Try taking out the graphics card and using onboard temporarily
-Any other special buttons on the mobo?

That's all I've got, although I'm sure other people will have some more ideas

make sure the cpu fan is attached right.

Doubt it would overheat that fast

have you tried booting up with 1 stick of ram?
And clear the CMOS and have a go at booting up.
Are you able to enter the bios?

Sounds daft, but are you using a usb keyboard, can you change to a ps/2.

Don't have a PS/2 Keyboard,
Can't enter the BIOS,
Already tried clearing CMOS and using 1 stick of RAM,
CPU fan is fine,
no particular strange beeps or noises to my knowledge,
Will try the graphics card idea.

This thread is about my machine. Natima is my brother who's helping me out with it. Basically, I haven't had a chance to try out the graphics card idea yet but somehow I doubt that is the problem. Does anyone else have any ideas? I don't simultaneously have access to the machine and the internet so if i could have a few ideas to try when I'm there it would be really useful. Thanks!
