OK yeah from those pictures it doesn't really look like you see much of it anyway. Looks like the Matterhorn it is![]()
That dude is also using a micro-atx board. So you can see how it fits in there.

your going m-atx? i suppose that board does have all the trick though
the matterhorn is a good cooler
OEM cpu?
OK so that board is matx. That isn't going to work if I want to add some components. Any other board you can suggest that isn't baby blue. I'm picky sorry.![]()

The SSD is a lil more money but it's much bigger

So you reckon the board I have added here?

Retail CPU with the longer warranty and heatsink.
I do love the look of the asrock extreme mobos too. because it's mATX although it can do SLI/xfire i would suggest you just go with the best single GPU setup you can.The RAM is much cheaper, ok it's CAS11 but in the real world it makes no odds. It also ties in nicely to the colour schemeThe SSD is a lil more money but it's much bigger
You'll notice no aftermarket heatsink but I would suggest you add one later. Your not that far from free P&P. If you were to do a build log your post count would increase plenty
To complete the look you might like to cool the CPU with something like this

1 x Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/LGA2011/AM2/AM3) (CWCH100) £85.98

Free P&P is great for nabbing great parts when they come up on offer at the right price
Hope this helps, look forward to seeing what you settle on
p.s Personally i prefer that case in white but it's your build your rules lol
Get that board, ignore what the above say, the ASrock is inferior and has less warranty (2 vs 3 years).
Getting a full size ATX board provides a better layout for SLI/Crossfire.
Well then that is that then. You have cleared it all up for me. Like you said the only thing I may do in the future is add a second gpu, maybe.
I don't plan on OC straight away so you reckon the stock cooler with the retail one will be fine till then?

Please don't teach me to suck eggs Buzz
The plextor SSD actually has some good reviews, the main complaint against the drive was it's price. If you are calling it cheap then that issue clearly doesn't factor in any more does it?
I like the look of the Asrock mobo as i said before (i forgot to mention the THX rated onboard audio). With my beige trousers on I would lean towards the GB mobo as it is more practical being a larger mobo and has a longer warranty....this was discussed before my post anyway.
Personally i prefer substance over styling. The OP didn't want blue in the build so I did my best to style my spec to suit the Asrock colour scheme....it's only my opinion but I think i did a pretty good job.

No harm no foul bud, as you said it's our opinions
I've just noticed stulid has knocked me for using the Asrock mobo in another thread![]()
I'm not really buying into the spacing argument over the mATX mobo when the OP is wanting a midi tower case. With the larger ATX mobo in the case a second GPU would sit very close to the PSU, so to be fair it's really tit4tat between the GB and asrock other than the warranty.

Ok so it looks like it would make more sense to go for the GB mobo as it has an extra years warranty. Correct?
