New build help please

Hi everybody, I have been lurking for the last few weeks trying to get a feel for what's good and what isn't so good these days. Decided to register as I'd be much happier knowing somebody with exp. in this has made sure ive not made any glaring newbie mistakes.

Does this look like a good enough build with the chance to throw in an SSD, better GPU and a non-stock cpu cooler for OC'ing at a later dates.

I have a STRICT £600 budget from the Wife but would ideally want to get an Ivybridge "Starter" Kit that can be added to later when what she doesn't know, wont hurt her. ;)

It will be used for gaming to a certain extent. Id like to be able to run anything newish at medium/high settings but primarily strategy games such as Shogun 2/ Total War series

I have all peripherals inc monitor, a dvd drive and OS. Can anybody suggest any improvements or advice before I hit the checkout? Also, how do you add the OCUK basket when speccing people on here?

N.B I'm upgrading from an ancient E4400 with an equally old 8600GTS so I'm sure to be amazed by the upgrade even on such a small budget.

Thanks for the super fast reply, Yes i have Win 7 64bit OS and im 99.9% sure the DVD drive is Sata.

Would it be worth going with a samsung SSD now and running with the HD4000 for a couple of months to save any potential headaches having to re-install windows later on. Also would any of the other Z77 boards under £100 add enough to justify the extra 15-20 quid .

Also if i bought all them together would i need any extra cables or other bits and bobs I might have missed off?

Dont expect much gaming performance from the built-in GFX, its pretty poor.

If you can indeed live with it until you get a GFX card, then the SSD will make a fine choice.

The motherboard will come with SATA data cables, the PSU has the power cables needed.

I might put off buying a month in order toget both GPU and SSD as it doesn't make sense to me anyway to wait and then have to re-install windows onto the SSD.

Is there a better Mobo choice in this price range?

Lastly, did you recommend the seagate because its on offer or because its a better drive?

I only came on the forums to help me choose which components to buy but I've been ignited by it all and can't seem to get off. Always wanted to build my own and can't wait for the hours of stress guaranteed to ensue.
