Just put together new build and can't seem to get it to post, starts up for a few seconds and then just reboots, is in this loop and won't do anything else. Taken it out of the case and disconnected all the peripherals taken out the RAM,only thing that is connected is the psu to motherboard, 24 and 4 pin. And the power switch.

It's an i5 3570k, with a gigabyte z77x-d3h. Please help!

Nuts, just took one out and it booted, put the other one in by itself and it didn't boot, tried it in the slot the other one was it and it booted. Tried it in slots 2 & 4 didn't boot, tried it 1 & 3 didn't boot. Tried 1 & 2 slots separately with just 1 stick and it boots, so that says that 3 & 4 are borked??

some motherboards require the ram to be fitted in a specific order. have u read the manual to see which order the ram goes in?

Yeah haha in future I won't bother it told me in the manual it was 4,3,2,1 but it's actually 4,2,3,1 and it would seem that 1&3 are still unresponsive but got it posting with 4&2

Found this in the manual.

Channel A: DDR3_4, DDR3_2
Channel B: DDR3_3, DDR3_1

1. Dual Channel mode cannot be enabled if only one DDR3 memory module is installed.
2. When enabling Dual Channel mode with two or four memory modules, it is recommended that memory
of the same capacity, brand, speed, and chips be used and installed in the same colored DDR3
sockets. For optimum performance, when enabling Dual Channel mode with two memory modules we recommend that you install them in the DDR3_1 and DDR3_2 sockets.

Yeah as I said its working in slots 4&2 but it won't boot with the ram in slots 1&3. And as I said earlier they are laid out as 4,2,3,1

But you only tried single stick in slots 1&2. Have you actually tried both sticks together( slots 1&2) as recommended in your manual.
