Hi,

I am looking to build a new pc and I need it to be future proof and fast. Its mainly going to be for hard core gaming and general use.

My budget is £2500 can be streched to £3500 if needed.

I was thinking of building a watercooling system - If anyone can suggest all the part requirements i need and i would be greatful.

Im new to this so if theres anything i missed let me know.

Thank you

Welcome,

This sounds well up my street. :)

Firstly, Is the budget for everything? Monitor/keyboard/mouse and Rig? or do you already have monitors.

Display wise, what size are you thinking? 120hz/144hz or 1440p/3 screens?

Any opinions on the above.

Custom waterloops can be pretty simple. :)

So can anybody recomend any specs that i will need?

Thanks

I'm sure there are builds going on in the background ;) You have given us a budget of £3500 max so you can really go town on this one. Guideline specs I would be looking at:

  • i7 socket 2011 & mobo
  • 16GB Quad channel memory
  • 2x GTX 780 Ti or 2x 290/290X in SLI/XFIRE
  • 256GB SSD (or 2x 128GB in RAID0 for more speed)
  • 2TB HDD (2x 2TB mirrored for backup if you like)
  • Superflower Leadex 1000W PSU
  • Corsair 900D
  • 2x GPU waterblocks
  • 1x CPU waterblock
  • 3x 240MM rads (or whatever fits best in the 900D)
  • All fittings, pipes, pumps, fans & cables needed

Well here's something to start you off. I have never actually specced a watercooling rig before so excuse any errors or if I have forgotten something. I believe the vast majority of the kit is there and it is about as high-end as you can get, hence the price. You don't need to spend this much (or you can spend more), but it gives you an idea of cost for a watercooled socket 2011, dual-GPU rig.

Gone with a black and white theme:
