Hey guys built a sandy system today the 2600k with venom cooler. now i forgot themal paste so used the stock that come with vemon but idle temps are about 45-60 how should the paste be applied? followed instructions to smear a thin layer over the cpu but something wrong :S

Use a blob in center of cpu about the size of a grain of rice or half a pea.

as above blob half pea size in middle then let cooler spread it as its tightend down

ok tried reseating it sitting between 29-43 now is that about right?

29-34 is normal for idle temp.
