Guys - any ideas?

Just building a new rig after many years (980x, Gigabyte UD3R & Corsair H50) and the CPU temps in the BIOS are really high - 90 deg C and climbing.

All the fans are working and I've checked and removed and repositioned the waterblock for the H50 - seems fine.

Any ideas what I'm missing? How do I know if the waterblock is functioning - is there a hum of the pump or anything?

Thanks - any ideas would be welcome!

I haven't tried the stock air cooling yet (trying to avoid taking the whole MB out again...)

Were is the pump connected to, fan header or molex using a adapter.

Also triple check the waterblock is connected firmly.

It's connected to a fan header ... is molex better?

I have checked it's well seated and removed, cleaned and reattached already - seems well seated.
