New build home, plan changes?

Hi! We moved in to our first home in october last year! new houses are still being built in the area as part of an on going build.

However, opposite our house was a big blank area which we were told was going to be for a single local small store which was fine no problem with that. However recently they have finally started work over, and it looks like more than just a shop. So i emailed the site team and have been told theres housing, flats and apartments going there too.

just feels a bit cheeky, it probably wont affect us at all but when you buy a home you do so based on what you think the area will end up like etc. we had a decent view from our bedroom but i think that will be gone now :D

just having a moan really, i dont think its like they lied to us as its an ongoing development but they should be more clear imo. may even affect resell who knows

They most likely have all sorts of clauses in what you signed that will let them get away with changing any or all of the plans for stuff around you.
