8Gb of ram is more than enough for gaming so the money saved there can go on a bigger SSD. I found 120gb to be way too small. That psu is rubbish. There is far better available for the money. 550w is more than enough for a single 980 as well. The 900 series cards are extremely power efficient. My suggestions are below and I also in cluded a 750w psu just in case he will go Sli further down the line. Both psu's are built by Seasonic and far better quality than the Corsair CX. That case looks really awful as well but cases are more personal preference.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E250B/EU) £89.99
1 x XFX XTR 750W '80 Plus Gold' Fully Modular Power Supply £79.99
1 x EVGA Supernova GS 550W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £64.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLRED38G2400HC11CDC01) £49.99

The SSD is only a boot drive for him so i'll probably keep that, and he wanted the RAM
But i'll look into the Power Suppy and i'm glad it is modular because putting it together with the extra space would be good.

He should really get some of his games on SSD. I started off with a 120gb SSD and soon filled it up. I then swapped to a 250gb and then another 250gb just for Steam!! If he really wants 16gb of ram at least get some fast stuff. 1600mhz is slow for Haswell which likes fast ram. Here is a good 2400mhz kit and a suggestion for a much nicer looking and £10 cheaper case.

1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLRED316G2400HC11CDC01) £99.95
1 x Raijintek Agos Midi Tower - Black £39.95

Review for the XFX XTR 750 psu and one for the EVGA Supernova GS 550w. The GS goes back up in price tomorrow making it not such a good buy as the 650w version is only a extra fiver and the better buy then. Another option is the EVGA Supernova G2 650w which is now in stock. It's built by Superflower and is also gold rated and fully modular and has a 7 year warranty. It's also £2 cheaper than the GS650. Review for the G2 650w is here.
