Yo building a new PC (always the best time of the year)

System will be:

Intel i5 2500k
Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 Socket 1155 Motherboard
8GB Vengeance RAM
HD 6850
60GB SSD OCZ 3
1TB Seagate HDD
BitFenix Survivor
650W Coolermaster 85%
Standard DVD RW
24" Monitor

Comes to about £800. Just like to know that i havnt forgotten anything or overlooking an issue!?

Will be using the PC for BF3, MW3, SW:TOR, 3D Design, coding, web dev, and all the rest of it. Planning on keeping this PC for a long time so has to be decent. Also do we know what socket the new IVYBRIDGE CPUs will be? Could always hit 16GB RAM too but dont really see it necessary. Not really planning to OC so not bothered about cooling. Cant afford heating anyway so (student).

Greatly appreciate your input, cheers folks!

looks pretty good, but have a couple of tweaks from me:

change RAM to this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-094-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517
same price, same speed, but wont limit cooler options if you change your mind later and want a better cooler

change PSU to this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-003-LA&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=
plenty powerful enough and will be more reliable than the coolermaster one

*fixed the link fail (thanks for pointing that out fowler)

Think its worth getting a more exspencive board with PCIe 3 in in that case?

It is PCI-E3.0,

The top slot is directly connected to the cpu socket by 16X lanes, there are no "switches" that more expensive boards have which divide that 16X up and gives you Crossfire/SLi at a better equal 8X/8X, so the Gen3 boards have PCI-E3.0 "switches"

Its the Ivybridge that has the PCI-E controller onboard.

This also means that this board doesnt support SLI and its Crossfire performance is poor, so stick to powerful single cards.

where you trying to link to http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-094-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517 ;)

your link takes you to the page with the list of all the dual channel 1600mhz ram ocuk sell :)

You cant link to competitor mate.

that board is P67, try this - Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3, Intel Z68, S 1155, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, RAID SATA, PCIe 2.0 (x16), VGA On Board, ATX

I suggest you go for it then, how much is the 6850 there?

And can you put more detail up about the PSU? model number maybe?

its £107

Im crap with graphics i cant tell the difference but i thought for a 100 must be alright. I had a 5770 before so im sure it will be better!

It is better, thats a good XFX model, for £107 its good.

This board Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3, Intel Z68, S 1155, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, RAID SATA, PCIe 2.0 (x16), VGA On Board, ATX

Is £2 cheaper, its the one in the reviews above. be careful of the other two boards around that price, it must be Z68AP-D3
