I have just put together my brothers pc.

The spec is:

i5 4670k
gigabyte z87x-oc
corsair 8gb ram.

The first problem I had was the default speed for the Ram was 1300 so I changed it to what it said on the stick..1600Mhz and 1.65v so should be ok.

Next the processor v core voltage was .744 which I thought was too low as most ones I googled were at 1.1v. The multiplier is at 34.I changed it to 1.1v but still didnt seem to make a difference

the big problem we are having as when we run cpu z it says its running at 800mhz.

It doesnt feel very fast and the windows score seems to confirm that it isnt just in low power eco mode..
It wont transcode any 720p or 1080p videos

I am stuck..:( :boggle:

The thing is I don't think it is switching up as it barely plays games, took 20 mins to unzip a big file and the low windows score.

what bios version are you running? might need latest bios

can also try loading optimised defaults in the bios

I've seen this before on that board, there's a switch on the board, from memory I think its the OC TRIGGER SWITCH or (TGR), try switching it to 1.
