Just put together a new PC and I'm using the stock CPU cooler for the time being. The motherboard is an Asus P8Z68V Pro and I installed the AI Suite II system software to monitor the board.

I've noticed while in the BIOS the CPU is reported at about 65-70C. I thought something was wrong and checked the HSF but it is seated fine. In Windows the AI Suite II reports the CPU temperature at about 33-35C, but when all Cores are being heavily used, and the Auto Tuning is on so it boosts the CPU to 4.4Ghz, the temp is temporarily reported at 90+C, but when the task is over it immediately goes down to the 40's and back to 33C within seconds. The CPU fan speeds up to about 2000RPM too.

So, is this normal and is the stock HSF ok for short blasts at 4.4Ghz or should I be getting an after-market one?
