Ok all most of my parts arrived today so I'm starting my first build. I've got everything layed out ready to go. I notice that the mobo battery is already installed. Should this be removed prior to starting?

hehe I'll put up a pic as soon as it is presentable :D It looks fairly straight forward but I have doubts about the wiring. The P180 isn't the best and I was really hoping to keep the upper drive carriage as well ... we'll see how it pans out. I'll be back with more questions later :D

Told you I'd be back ... ok I've plugged in the front panel indicator lights, power switch and led and the reset switch. The arrows on the plugs I have lined up with the ""Positive" sign on the pins. Now I've come to the front USB and the Audio plugs. The plugs have the arrow on them to line up with positive on the pins but the pins on the mobo have no positive sign. The mobo instructions do not show which way the plugs need to be orientated ...any hints welcome.
Oh, it would help to say I've got an Antec P180 case and the Gigabyte EX58-UD3R mobo

go into the bios, set the defaults, time and date, then set the boot order to DVD drive first, harddrive second, disable all other.

ok done that and now windows is installing. Once done I'll install the mobo drivers and video drivers. Are the drivers for the dvd/bluray needed or will windows pick them up and install them?

windows should have standard drivers for the drives.

so install windows.

motherboard drivers.

latest Nvidia or ATI driver.

sound driver if windows hasnt detected a audio device.

windows updates, anti virus + firewall

ok done that ... I am attempting to install the mobo driver from the disc but it just comes up with "not responding" when trying to run the exe ... do I need to run the disc while booting or something?
