new build intel.help please

on my list is

ASUS p5k premiumwi/fi or Asus p5k,1 is £125 and the other £78.I dont know which one to go for.

Intel core2 duo E6850 lga775 conroe

Corsair 2gb dominator pc28500c5 twin

Not looked into buying since my present amd4400dual build nearly 2 years ago so would really appreciate any input if these are decent matches etc?

Both boards have very good reviews but i have not used them before. The ASUS p5k premium wi/fi has onboard WiFi which you only need if you use wireless internet ofc

The cooling is much better on the premium so you can get higher overclocks with that board.

One thing I would suggest is get a Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 or save the cash and get a E4500 and overclock it

Also you could get 4gb of ram for the same price as your spending, get the OCZ 2GB 6400C4.

doesnt XP only allow 2 gig?I dont know about overclocking

Afaik XP can see about 3.25GB of RAM

32bit XP will see ~3.25gb.

so it will allow me to put 4 gig in then? just wont use all.do most of the new boards have 4 ram slots or do i need 2x 2gig sticks?

Can do either, although some boards my have trouble overclocking with four sticks.
