Hey guys just build the new system which is in my sic.

When ever i restard the pc, it does an extra restard

and if i overclock anything, it fails to boot and goes back to the bios.

cpu is stock

memory is at something like 2133 instead of 3000.

any ideas whats going on?

Sorry guys that 4.1 was from my old 2600k i got many years from ocuk.

cpu is 100% stock, will update bios to the beta version and see if it changes much

Bios update has done nothing.

Even with anything on stock, if i warm restart my pc it will completely die, then cold boot.

What could be the issue? :(

Could this be an issue with my memory? or something shorting something out?

Its rather annoying, can't even restart windows for updates as it'll just close windows, die, then cold boot and say its had to load defaults

  1. Check connectors
  2. Boot in to BIOS
  3. Load optimised defaults
  4. Save
  5. Set RAM to XMP profile
  6. Save
  7. Reboot

I'm betting on dodgy PSU or BIOS config error.

Tried without the Seagate hdd's connected?seen a few issues with compatibility/booting with those connected

Development, kind of.

With everything stock, my pc restarts from windows properly.

But as soon as i change ANYTHING in the bios, it crashes and restores to defaults.

I actually mean anything, like i turned off the gigabyte display logo.....it crashed, changed the boot order....crash.

I'll try removing the seagate hard drives tomorrow, but i dont understand how these could cause such an issue?

can't even overclock the memory just a tiny bit. 3000 memory running at 2100 :'(

Corrupt BIOS?

Flash the backup BIOS in?

I agree with McGraw. First thing to do is to flash your BIOS.

Have you tried booting without the TB HDDs connected? It could be some strange legacy problem at play. I'm assuming your OS is on the SSD? Try booting with just the SSD.

Also, not to point out the obvious, but make sure your fans are connected properly so that it's not a system overheat.

Cheers guys will try the bios flash to an old fresh stable version.

i flashed it to the new beta version and it didnt do anything.

going to try and boot up with 1 stick of ram as well.

then take the hd's out

if none of that solves anything then i'm going to cry at the money wasted

But i really can not be bothered to strip my pc down again :'(

So heres an update.

I flashed the bios, tried the beta and the primary. Nothing changed

I took both the hard drives out, nothing has changed still can not overclock or anything.

Now going to try removing the memory see if that helps

I really feel like screaming now!

I think the motherboard is undervolting the memory and cpu, but when i set it to 1.35v the bios dies and resets.

hmmm

I would stress test the Cpu at stock and monitor the volts and temps. Run Realbench a few times. No point in trying to OC if the system is unstable at stock settings.

How old is your PSU?

If i only overclock the cpu. Fail

If i only overclock the memory. Fail

No idea what to do, now going to stress test the cpu

FML

Okay this is strange.

I changed the settings in the bios and saved, and just before it restarted and crashed i turned it off. I then left it a minute started it up.

Now im running at 4ghz and 3000mhz memory according to cpu-z. Just stress testing then going to restart pc and see if it keeps the settings or dies and loads defaults.

p.s thanks everyone for the help and advice, wish me luck

DAMN

After it overclocking fine, restarted, crashed, loaded defaults. I couldnt get past the restart to optimised defaults screen :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'm occasionally getting this error

BlInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001

What the hell is that?
