Hi all

Have just built some his first pc and ran into a problem. Pc ran fine for a day and now it won't switch on at all. Have stripped it right back and can't find what's the fault.
The mobo is a asus tuf gaming a620m-plus wifi
PSU is MSI MAG A750GL 750W 80 Plus Gold ATX 3.0 PCIE5 Modular Power Supply

The mobo doesn't have a light indicator at all.so unsure if it's getting power. If I press the bios flashback button this lights up which to me indicates power but how can I be sure that I get the right part replaced. Don't have another PSU or mobo to be able to test either way which is a pain!

Any advice appreciated

That's what I thought, just not sure now to proceed. Do I rma PSU/mobo etc. got them from ocuk but not had to do this before so not sure what happens if their also not actually faulty as I got no way to verify one way or the other so feel kinda stuck

Just done the mobo flashback which appears to have completed as it stopped flashing but again it won't boot at all.
Attempted a jump start using power pins in case it's the power switch and nothing still
Just confused that if it's the psu surely I couldn't do the flashback to the bios?
And if it's the mobo why did it also appear to let me flash the bios!?

Full spec is a Ryzen 7600
Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 XT Gaming OC 16GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Kingston NV2 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe Solid State Drive (SNV2S/1000G)
Asus TUF Gaming A620M-PLUS WIFI (Socket AM5) DDR5 Micro ATX Motherboard
MSI MAG A750GL 750W 80 Plus Gold ATX 3.0 PCIE5 Modular Power Supply
Kolink Observatory MX Mesh ARGB Midi Tower Case - White
Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36, Overclocking Gaming Memory

Got nothing to be able to test with so ordered a new mobo last night from another supplier which is coming today just so I can test and hopefully rule one of these out!
I would have thought if it was a dead CPU etc then it would try and boot etc. I don't even get a power light when pressing the power button. Absolutely dead, no activity at all which makes me think mobo or PSU

Tested with new mobo and same issue..

New mobo has LED indicators and getting nothing on them either so must be the psu then.
Just tried jump start on the psu with the paperclip and again nothing from the psu, no fan spinning or the slightest hum

yeah I checked that a few times just to check! Amount of times I have made mistakes like that! It's just surprising that I was able to flashback the bios using that PSU yet I can't get anything from it at all!

All tested outside the case and tested without the CPU present too which I would expect the PSU to fire up case fans etc when connected but still no dice

Well this new mobo has led indicators to show CPU, ram, VGA or boot fault and none light up either. I would hope this would detect CPU if the CPU was at fault

so update on this issue...
new PSU has arrived and there is now power and fans spin up etc but still doesnt boot...
odd thing is it will power on by pressing power button but holding it down wont turn off the power so have a feeling something else is up
tried with one stick of ram etc
onboard gpu
flashed bios again
maybe it was the mobo as well or could this be something else!

any help appreciated

Tested with the new PSU and original mobo.
The replacement mobo was already sent back which I now wish I hadn't!
Just really not having much luck with this

The new mobo went straight back as thought it was the psu. Which it kinda proves it was as we are now a step further but could it be that both the PSU and mobo went at the same time????
Triple checked all cables to ensure not missed anything as well.
So both mobo power is connected
Wish I had kept the other mobo now to be able to test but feel like I need.to reorder but can't believe that both a PSU and mobo failed together

It's looking like it was a PSU and motherboard failure.

It could have been the PSU all along but it took out the board with it as well.

What processor do you have?
Ryzen 5 7600 CPU

looks like another board will have to be ordered again to see if thats now gone too
picking up a 4 pin speaker for the board later just in case that gives any clues as well when booting

so tested with a speaker connected and mobo not giving out any beeps at all

has raised an rma to ocuk so will see what they say next
