Just completed building the following and now seem to have some issues, when i get into the bios it works ok for a while with both mouse and keyboard then freezes. I tried to install windows via usb and this just kept crashing with numerous error messages that i am assuming is related to whatever is making the system freeze in the bios, any ideas?

Can only see one similar post, here:

Interestingly, also an MSI Tomahawk, though X670E instead of B650.

Have you done anything with the memory config? Some DDR5 is not stable even at the stock settings/voltage (e.g. 4800/1.1v).

Are you using the onboard graphics or the 7900 XT?

Can you be more specific about the error messages?

When i first booted the memory setting was at 4200 so i changed that to 6000. Will change it back in the morning and see if that makes it stable. Am using the hdmi out put on the 7900 but did think that i could try using the on board and see what happens as the GPU wont have any drivers yet. The windows installation errors were various and did not write them down tbh, IRQL not less or equal, critical process died, one about memory and one where it created partions on my ssd

When you changed the memory from 4200 to 6000, did you use DOCP/XMP/EXPO or just change the frequency manually? If you didn't change the DRAM voltage I doubt it would be stable and with these boards, enabling EXPO changes more than just the memory voltage too, so it may not be stable even if you manually change the frequency and dram voltage.

hopefully sorted!!! changed the memory settigs back, then noticed id clicked on an overclock profile so unclicked that and it seemed to get stable again. Just managed to install win 11 and everything seems ok again............lets see
