Theres something wrong with a new build i'm making for a friend, firstly the windows setup froze just before the partitioner unless the modem was taken out, then I can complete partitioning but at the end of the graphical setup part I get a BSOD, it's done it 3 times so far.

*** STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x00000003,0x8552CB18,0x8552CC8C,0x805C749A)

Thought it might be RAM but it passed Memtest86
Changed SATA plugs to different port
Unplugged Floppy, Modem

Still doesn't fix the problem :( I dont know what to do.

System is as Follows:
Asus Vintage V2-AE1 barebones system
AMD64 3000+
1Gb OcUK value ram
OcUK Value Modem
Samsung Spinpoint 80Gb SATA HDD
NEC CD-1100B CDRW/DVD drive
generic floppy

Windows Version is a new XP Home SP2

At the moment I'm leaning to faulty harddrive

Underclock it and see how far you get then. Problem is blue screens don't offer constructive advice so you'll never know if it's hardware config or device drivers.

Nah I think its a mobo/HDD problem, I think ive fixed it now (touch wood) I limited the SATA interface to 1.5Gb/s from 3Gb/s with a jumper on the drive. fingers crossed, it hasnt crashed the drive fitness test yet like it did before :p
