New build keeps shutting down

Hi all,

I am having some difficulty since upgrading the core of my PC

I recently added a new motherboard, graphics card, processor and RAM

When gaming, my PC will suddenly turn itself off without warning. It seems to happen mostly on higher graphics settings. This happens every 30 - 40 minutes.

As far as I can ascertain, my PSU is the correct wattage and I think its unlikely to be failing as it wasnt a problem before the upgrade a week ago.

I have tried reinstalling the graphics card drivers to no avail. The fans are working well on the graphics card and PSU, so I doubt its a heat issue especially as I am not overclocking. Is there a way to check this?

I am using a cable which splits to 2x 6+2 heads to connect the PSU to the 8 and 6 pin plugs on the graphics card, should I be using 2 cables instead?

Any advice on what to check next? From my research, it may be a problem with the RX 5700 XT, if so does anyone know a workaround or should I return it for a different card?

Just to update, Event viewer reports a critical error at the time of the most recent crash

Event ID 10110 :A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices.

this seems to imply a problem with the graphics card driver? Would that explain crashes mid game on higher settings?

Any higher power draw card should be used with two completely separate power cables.
Using one split in the end cable doubles voltage losses not only for 12V wires, but also also for ground wires compromising ground reference.
The former definitely puts graphics card's VRM under more stress and the latter could increase problems besides certainly not being helpfull for logic level operation.
