Finally going to get time to build my new system tomorrow, just curious as to whether anyone's interested in some pics along the way? :P

Spec:
i5 750
Asus P7P55D
OCZ Gold 1600MHz RAM
ATi HD4890
Corsair 650w PSU
CoolerMaster CM-690 Case

First high spec build I've done, so just one quick curious question. To ground myself, I plug the PSU into the mains but don't flick the switch? That's the switch on the mains or the switch on the PSU (or both)? :)

Cheers.

Good luck with your new build, the first one works for me but just to be safe i have a antistatic wrist strap.
looking forward to your pic's.

looking forward to seeing your pics, cant wait till i build my first one, but wont have monet till March, not long to wait now

Alright, just got it built BUT there's no display. :(

All the fans spin and a green light on the motherboard flashes up, along with a red one next to memOK. But there's no display at all/ I've tried two different graphics cards and same problem.

Any ideas? I'll put a picture up in a bit if that helps.

Okay,

CPU_LED flashes red on boot, then lights off after a few seconds. When the system powers down, it flashes for about a second.

The green LED at the bottom comes on as soon as I flick the power on, and stays on for the duration. The MemOK LED also stays on for a period of time.

I would take a picture but have misplaced my camera. xP

Tried booting by mixing up the RAM in different slots, and then with no RAM at all, and the mobo did nothing. Could this be a DOA board?

Sorry for all the double postings, I'm just getting frustrated with it. xP

did you connect the cpu power connector?

Yep did that, I double checked that it was the 8 pin I had to use, also pressed the MemOK button but wasn't all that patient with it. I'll press it again and leave it for a few minutes. Thanks.

try using only one stick of ram and test it in each of the slots if you can boot into the bios then manually set the ram timings and then stick the other sticks in.

btw you need to hold the memok button for about 3 seconds and then the memory led should start flashing which means its trying to find a setting that lets you boot

Okay, just tried one stick in each slot and held the memOK button each time. It blinks, the graphics card fan powers up and down numerous times (I assume it's the memOK restarting) and eventually stops blinking and stays red.

Memory problem?
