Hello folks, the thread title says it all. I'm passing on my 660ti & 3750k and wanted something that will run a little smoother while working in 3D and play some games every now and then.
I've got a mouse and keyboard, a monitor, and a second-hand 3060ti. How's this looking?

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £474.85 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Let me know what you think. I don't want to spend loads more than this, £500-550 tops. I'm not going to get into any overclocking, I think I can rely on the stock CPU cooler.
Spec-wise I'm pretty happy with this unless someone's got some worthwhile recommendations. I'm more asking for help checking over any potential compatibility issues. This 3060ti needs 2x6-pin connectors, for example, which this PSU can supply.

Thanks Tetras, I'll wait it out and see if I change my mind but for now I think I'll stick to AM4, I'm not likely to upgrade at all for another ten years or so

If you're definitely staying on AM4, you might want to shop around for the 5700X, you can find it for not much more money than the 5600 non-X in your list. Admittedly you need a cooler which adds more expense compared to the 5600, but the Freezer 36 is £23 @ OCUK and handles it fine.

If you do CPU intensive stuff, I think the next 10 years will thank you for the 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads.

I appreciate that, I'll look around. Also just noticed the 5600 doesn't come with the stock cooler :o

isn't blender ram intensive? if keeping 10yrs wouldn't 64gb be better? or if you decide to go am5, we were discussing on other thread and @Gray2233 spotted 48gb ddrs 7600c36 sticks for £79 preorder
if happy shopping away the Gigabyte b650 Eagle ax is £139.99 or the asrock b650 pg lightning for £134.99...think both are better boards than the asus prime boards, though the gigabyte x ax is £149 at mo, and is solid
if you happy shipping from abroad you can get a 7700 for less than a 7600 here...someone did it on the forum and it did turn up....though I'd prob stick with buying a 7600 here...think I'd be a bit nervous shipping something in from abroad

I'll see what 32gb is like and I'll have space to add another 32 if needed, I won't be rendering huge scenes at once or anything, just working on some high-poly objects on their own individual scenes. I will probably end up spending an extra ~£100 on an AM5 CPU and motherboard, it might be worth it in the long run
