So just finished a new build full specs are as follows

CPU: Intel i5-12600k
Motherboard: MSI Mag Z690 Tomahawk WIFI DDR4
RAM: Crucial Balostix x2 16gb 3600mhz DDR 4
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070
HD: X2 Crucial sata ssd
CPU cooler: NZXT Kraken with retention kit
Case NZXT :H710i
PSU: RM750x

So first boot all seems in order quickly checked out the bios seems all in order.
Installed windows half way through got stuck had reboot but continued with install.

It's booting extremely slow past the bios with just a - showing and freezing when there. A couple of times it didn't freeze but cursor was seriously lagging.

So restart now black screen so only way was case power button.

I have tried to reinstall windows via usb again but through me a error crashed now I can only boot into the bios so attempting another install and the cursor is lagging again during windows install.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

I couldn't tell you if the bios is upto date as of yet I just manged to install windows again and soon as complete did a restart and has frozen again on the MSI Mag boot up splash screen and yes XMP is off.

i was going to say a possible ssd issue but for it to crash at bios makes me think ram or cpu. as stated above check for bent pins and try with one stick ram and try both sticks in case one is faulty

I tried removing one ssd then both, then tried all combinations with ram and also removed my GPU incase was a compatability issue will try checking the pins on CPU when I'm back home.

The only thing I have done different this build was I had to buy a NZXT USB Hub as there was only two USB 2.0 headers on the board when I needed three it's a long shot but I will try disconnecting that which has both of the front panel coconnectors.

Edit: i see you've already checked the RAM.

It could be a USB internal header compatibility issue, i had a similar issue when one of the internal heads was dead. It caused a no boot or random lock ups during boot.

Tried disconnecting so only the usb header on board was used for my Kraken same issue.

Just removed CPU all pins are in good order resat it still same issue, I do have on boot on the debug lights for about 5 seconds the CPU LED comes on then switches off then the VGA light comes on for a few seconds then switches off.

Have you got the cpu 8 pin power connector in the correct slot, theres 2 ?

you have done everything you could and it all seems to point to the mobo so hopefully returning it, if they have same issue upon testing, will be replaced and hopefully fix the issue :)
