New build memory problems

Having problems, related to the memory. With 2 sticks of ram (slots 0, 2) the motherboard gives one long error beep. I tried in slots 1 and 3 which got the comp to post. However, after a minute or two the comp freezes. I can get to the windows installation with one of either of the sticks of ram, but not both. Any ideas???

The mobo is an EVGA 650i ultra
RAM: Geil Dragon 2gb 6400 800mhz

Have you entered the correct settings for the memory (800mhz, 4-4-4-12 and 2.0v).

It would be worth running Memtest86+ at those settings before attempting to install Windows.

I have set the timings and set the voltage to 2.0
For whatever reason, the computer will not post in dual channel mode. I currently have the memory in slots 1 and 3 (slots are 0,2,1,3). For dual channel I would need either 0 and 1 or 2 and 3. Is the memory at fault here?

It will be easier to tell once you have Memtest'ed each stick on its own.
