Im looking at building a new pc for the purposes of sticking it under me living room tv to use as a media hub, so i will link it to my led tv, store and play music, and pretty much play any game i throw at it.
I have been looking at silverstone sogo sg07 case, with an i5 cpu.
Firstly is it possible to build a powerful mini itx and is it worth the trouble, what are the downsides etc. And any advice on what components to get? Budget less than 1k.

trouble is heat in a small case, and a all in one pc never does all either, games pc like a good cpu and vga setup, where as a tv box should be as small as possible and quite, something a good vga working hard never is, some dont make as much as others, but for me i'd build it as a games pc first and have a bigger case, less heat and better cooling then do rest on either wifi or cable, dont need pc anywhere near tv to still work tbh

Exactly, Heat is the main issue.

Cheers guys. Heat, noise and size is my problem. And ideas on other cases to consider, maybe even liquid cooling might be an option for noise, then this would effect size of the case.
Thanks doomedspeed for ur list

No worries.

Unless you want to Overclock liquid cooling isn't really a great option.

The Bitfenix Prodigy is the all-round ITX case, it can do anything but it is as big as an mATX case.

Im a big fan of the SG07, if i was going ITX, that'd be my choice. :)

If You do want to overclock though, the prodigy may be a good shout.
