Hey guys after spending all day working on it I finally got it finished.

I plugged it in and started it, as soon as I started it there was loud alarm sound coming from the mobo I think, and the leds on the mobo lit up.

I got scared and switched it off strait away lol.

Anything I can do to check what is causing this problem?

got Gigabyte UD4 1155 btw.

Got a big feeling 1k just went down the drain today lol.

Thanks =)

When you say alarm for you mean like a long drawn out beeping sound?

Check the manual which came with your mobo for a troubleshooting section. Should tell you about beeps and noises it makes. Then try and match the noise with what he manual says and it should lead you to your problem.

half the time it turns out to be RAM not installed properly though, so may just be easier to take it out carefully and re-seat it.

Yeh,It was a continuous beep, once I switched it off I realised the Graphics Card wasnt connected to the PSU lol, that might be it.

Thanks, Im pretty much knackard today lol, so I closed it up and Im gonna carry on tommorow

Yep it was the graphics card.

Strait from the manual

Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly
