Hi Guys,

Need a new base rig, I'm feeling:

CPU : Intel 4820k
MOBO : ASUS P9X79
RAM : Avexir Core Blue PC3 21000CL11

I'm looking for best bang for buck MOBO and being able to OC the CPU a little on the RAM, any suggestion's for a different spec guys...

Budget = £££'s not really important though I do want bang for my buck :D

Use general PC, video editing though I'm thinking of gaming on my PC again (Currently PS3 gamer)

Currently using my PC on my 42" flat screen plasma.

Running on 128GB OCZ SSD and a 3TB Maxtor

SB X-FI Fatal1ty Champion

Corsair Enthusiast 750W

Any reason you want x79 over z87?
Will you be going crossfire or SLI in the future?

If your not going for a 4930k then I would go with a 4770k Haswell build

4770k
Asus z87 deluxe has ac wifi, 10xsata 6, dual nic, Bluetooth 4.0
Ram: corsair vengeance (I have the low profile version as my cooler is huge)

Yeah I want to Crossfire in the future if possible.

£440 seems a good price :D

Do you know what overclock I can expect off the Haswell on that board over air???

And will that bandwidth of ram accommodate it???

Thx looks like a good value board.

Any ideas what it overclocks like with a Haswell chip? I see these chips have a voltage regulator which can play a bit of havoc with OCing?
