Just joined the forums to get some insight into this build. I'm going to scavenge one or two components from this PC to reduce costs.

I currently have the following parts for this build:

1. Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case
2. Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
3. My old Blu-Ray DVD+RW Drive
4. My old HDD even though I have no idea what it is.

Now, need a few more items as you can see. I didn't want to spend anymore than another £500 tops on the rest of the components, but I've already gone over that mark with what I have in mind:

1.Asus P8H67-M LE + Intel Core i5 2500K CPU + Performance Fan - I was asked to remove the link to here are the specs below of it:

2. PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 6970 2048MB GDDR5
3. Cooler Master GX 650W '80 Plus' PSU

Works out around £600 with delivery included.

Now I thought the PSU was quite expensive for the brand since I've seen better brands with lower (w). So if you can advise me a cheaper PSU that'll be great. Not even sure if I need 650w.

Also, I've seen i5 2500k being OC'd at 4.6GHz... is the one from PC World actually capable of that without blowing up? It has stock turbo boost to 3.7 but I'd like more. And buying the parts separately in that bundle seem to cost more from Overclockers.

Any advice would be awesome guys! Oh, and I'm only planning on playing with 1 monitor at least 1920x1080 like I do now. Thanks!

The H67 motherboard won't be as futureproofed as a Z68, so I suggest

YOUR BASKET
1 x PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 6970 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £249.95
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM £167.99
1 x Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £84.98
1 x XFX 650W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £81.98
1 x Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £25.99
Total : £622.90 (includes shipping : £10.00).

Not too sure, but some 6950's can have a switch to have the same bios as a 6970

Yes I would, as someone said above the bundle you linked to isn't very good. The CPU cooler looks bad, and the motherboard won't allow you to overclock at all! You need a Z68 or P67 chipset for that.

The Gelid is a great cooler for the price yes.

TBH you may not notice the difference but I think Powercolor is a cheap brand, MSI are proven and well known. I can't seem to find a review though at the moment!

I thought PowerColor looked like a good brand... suppose it's worth paying extra for a trusted one though...

Which would be better, the Z68 or P67?

Trying to see which 6970's are 304mm and below... OC doesn't seem to post it in the product description. One of them must fit though as I asked an OC adviser before buying the case and told him I'd want a 6970 or 6990 in it and he said it would fit fine so...

If not, I wonder if I should return it to OC's and get a bigger one, this hasn't been opened yet so I should be able to trade if need be right?

Would that fit? Needs to be maximum 304mm length. Read about some 6950's being able to be 6970's. I'd guess I'd have to email OC's before purchase to make sure I'd get one of them versions.

What clock speed can it get to? Stock at 800MHz but a reviewer said he got it to 950MHz?!
