currently i have got an Asus P5Q mobo, 4GB DDR1066 Ram (4x1GB), E5200 CPU (2.5GHz) and an Nvidia 9500GT GFX card.
i have on order a Q8300 CPU and was wondering if it would be relativly easy to go from the 2.5GHz stock to nearer the 3GHz - 3.5GHz?
anyone with a similar setup that could share their bios settings would be kool. also would the stock HSF be ok or would i need to upgrade that too.

thanks in advance.

You would be better off buying an aftermarket HSF if you want to clock this chip to 3.5GHz, I imagine the stock cooler wouldn't cope with that kinda clocks.

I suggest you read some guides for clocking Core2 chips rather than expect to use someone elses BIOS settings, as most of the time other peoples settings wont work for your specific chip..

Oh, a quick heads up mate, your sig is to big, it's only supposed to contain 4 lines max. :)

cheers, not after huge increases as its pretty good as it is. not sure if the lag is down to the gfx card or the cpu, hopefully for xmas will have a better gfx card so will find out. just from basic reading it seems simply upping the fsb to 400mhz seems to be pretty safe without any other changes, so would i notice a difference?
