New build new problems

Hey all my brother just bought a couple of new parts and I built the system for him. I connected everything but when I press the power button on the case all that happens is that the fans (cpu/psu/gpu) turn on for a 2 seconds and it turns off. Specs:

C2D 4500
Asus 8800gt
Asus P5N-E
OCZ 500W
G-skill 2GB

Any ideas?

All power connectors plugged in including the 4 or 8 pin for the cpu.
Reset the BIOS / CMOS.
Check all screws are in the correct place and not shorting on the motherboard.

If that fails try removing 1 stick of RAM to see if there could be faulty RAM module.
